Greetings fellow boaters,
As we say Goodbye to summer and Hello to fall, I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to serve you as Rear Commodore and be a part of Bremerton Yacht Club. Labor Day at Oro Bay was outstanding. As we approached the outstation on Anderson Island we planned to anchor out, believing the dock would be full. At the last minute we edged closer to find Andy Kupp and Bob Bachman waving to us with a place to tie up. The next thing we knew, Charlie brought John up to greet the gang and Bob walked our dog Peaches. What a great welcome. The weekend started with an Anniversary Party celebrating the Burwell's 50th Anniversary followed by the Anderson Island Parade the next day and John won a blue ribbon for his costume in his age category. (He and the other 3 year old both received one in all fairness) We had a wonderful weekend and we want to thank the Fleet Captain and mate, Bob and Gerri Bachman and all of the crew for doing a great job putting the weekend and all of the meals together.

This is the perfect time to thank GŁnter Krumme, Mike Knight and all of the hard work they put into the towline and Website. We are very proud of both.

The October Work Party for the 15th and 16th is fast approaching, so don't forget to sign up in a timely manner, so that we can make our plans accordingly.

Many of you have or know of someone who has pictures or video of happenings at the Yacht Club over the years. We are now in the process of seeking out those images and putting together a documentary. The ultimate plan is to arrange a DVD with narration and music that can be shared at functions and enjoyed by members, families and guests. Please scan and send photographs to jendonald@worldnet.att.net or bring in your photos or home movies in any form to Jim Busse at the Club Store in an envelope. Please include your name and the names pictured with the approximate date the picture was taken and a description of the event. All images will be returned in their original condition in as timely a manner as possible. Any questions please feel free to E-Mail the Club Historian Bob Wheeler or me or I can be reached at 360-415-0769.

The Salmon Bake on September 11, 2005 was a memorable day with a Salmon Dinner that pales the finest Restaurants. Thank you to all that participated and worked so hard to turn this event into one we will look forward to every year.

Jenny and I are looking forward to the New Members Night, Wine Tasting and Oktoberfest coming up. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for your friendship and camaraderie. Given these difficult times for our Country. I have so much to be grateful for and that includes being part of this wonderful club.

Sincerely, Don Hardgrove, RC
