We are on the brink of the Holiday Season, one of the busiest seasons for BYC..  Mark your calendars so you are sure not to miss any of the many events the club has in store for you.  Here is the run down of up-coming events.

Dec 5th Tree Trim Party.  This is our Kick Off to all the many events.  Bring a dish to share and help decorate the tree by hanging a few decorations at our Tree Trimming Party.  It will start at 6:00 p.m. and it is especially designed to help get you in the mood for the Holidays,  so please come on out and join us to help decorate our club.

Dec 6th Children’s Christmas Part.  Santa has this date on his calender to pay a special visit to BYC so he can say a special hello to all the BYC Children and hear from them personally as to what is on their Christmas List.  He will be arriving at the club around 2:00 p.m. so make sure you and all your little ones are here at 1:00 so you won’t miss his arrival.  Please sign-up if you want to bring a child to this wonderful party and don’t forget to bring a wrapped, tagged gift to put in Santa’s Pack to pass out to your child by Santa.

Dec 7th Special Peoples Cruise.  This is a very special annual event put on by our club that is looked forward to by so many Special People in our Community.  If you haven’t participated before let me encourage you to participate this year.  It is such a rewarding opportunity for each or us to share some time with a few people who appreciate it so much.  It isn’t difficult.  We have so many helpers from the Community.  The Kitsap Credit Union, the Bremerton High School Basket Ball Team, and of course the U.S. Navy, have repeatedly been here to help us to bring this event together with great success.  After the cruise there will be a dinner served in the lounge for our members and the helpers.   If you would like to participate, and we hope you do, please  sign-up on the list located in the club lounge.

Dec 12th&13th  Lighted Boat Parade.  Come one night or two.  Dust off your Christmas lights and hang them on your boat and join in on the fun.  There will be Hot Buttered Rum served after the parade on the Friday night.    Again look for the sign-up sheet in the Lounge.

Dec 14th Christmas Dinner.  Come and enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner served by the clubs officers.  There will be Holiday entertainment following dinner.  This is an especially popular event so plan on signing up early.

Dec 31st  New Years Eve Party.  This event is a wonderful semi formal sit down dinner, come out and enjoy an evening of fine dining and dancing to the tunes of “Thin Ice”.  Come out to the club and count down the New Year.

Let me review some of the activities that have just passed.  On Nov 1st was the 1st Annual BYC Wine Tour.  A group of 24 of our members departed the club on board a comfortable Motor Coach with its own “Dedicated Driver”.  This allowed everyone to sit back and thoroughly enjoy guided tours of three Olympic Peninsula Wineries, Lost Hills Winery in Sequim and Sorrenson Cellars and Fair Winds Wineries both in Port Townsend.  The day came to a pleasant finish with a great meal at the Belmont Hotel in  Port Townsend.  Though the weather was not the best it turned out to be a perfect day to sample some of the great wines our region has to offer right in our own back yard.  It was all such a terrific success that this was only the first of many other Wine Tours to come.

Nov 7th we welcomed the newest members to the club at New Members Night. Another wonderfully thought out party by Capt.  Steve and Laurie Stearns, and committee, where we sampled food and drink from various European countries all the while giving our newest members a terrific Welcome.

That’s all from me this month.  I look forward to seeing you at the club.
