Seattle Sailing Foundation The Sailing Foundation's mission is to address the participation, teaching and creation of youth sailing programs in response to the needs of the community that are not served by other organizations. The Foundation reaches out to all youth no matter what race, color, creed or national origin. The ultimate goal: keep kids off the streets and on the water. The main goals of the organization include affordable access to boats, instruction, safety training and research, and racing.

Alpena Youth Sailing Program
San Francisco Yacht Club Youth Program The Summer program takes sailors between 8 and 13 years of age and will develop their skills in small prams, like the Optimist, JY Trainer and El Toro. For sailors, 8-16 years of age who prefer to stay dry and get the feel of "cruising", classes are available in J24 and Cal 20 Keelboats. For the young teens with a taste for small boats and/or competition, we have Club Flying Juniors (the High School and College racing boat), 420s, Lasers and the exciting single-handed SPLASH.

Sailing Camp All instructors are certified in Red Cross, CPR and have at least a Level One Coaching certification from US SAILING. They are all chosen for their sailing, teaching and personal skills.
We base our instruction on a combination of the US SAILING training and education program as well as one developed by the Red Cross. The safe operation of small sailboats, small powerboats as well other watercraft is stressed. They learn basic seamanship, navigation, rules of the road, weather and many other essential topics.
