CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF BOATING AT BYC

Bob Wheeler
As you have noticed I’m sure, we are celebrating our 75th year of existance as a yacht club; the Bremerton Yacht Club, as a matter of fact.

In a series of articles, we have been documenting our history as best we can. These articles have covered the topics of: Log Racing; Main Station Property Acquisition and Development; Oro Bay Property Acquisition and Development; Development of Floats and Docks; “BYC Brats” (a few vivid memories from those who were youngsters at the Club); History Of The Skipperettes; Youth Programs; and Christmas at BYC.

These articles can only make an attempt to chronicle our heritage and accomplishments over the past 75 years. So much more will go untold but we will surely have hit some highlights which will generate fond memories in the older members and educate the newer ones. That has been our goal. The text of these articles and the pictures that go with it will be kept "digitally" and available on our website for the forseeable future.
