Two years have gone by already! I can’t believe that two years ago I was preparing to welcome the newest officers to the grand fourteen to our club for the Officers Cruise-in.

Change of Command
I don’t know about you but it seems that with each passing year the next year goes by quicker than the last. It must be the great people of the Bremerton Yacht Club that make it so, for I can not think of a better organization to be a part of and to work with as Angela and I have for the past two years. May 21st we installed another fine group of elected officers. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate:
  • Vice Commodore Charlie Billings,
  • Rear Commodore Ron Morse,
  • Treasurer Capt. Betty Smith,
  • Secretary Capt. Rob Bruins.
  • Two new Executive Committee Members
    • Capt. Roger Horne and
    • Capt. Don Sherwood.
  • Flag holding chairs:
    • Fleet Captain Steve Stearns and
    • Chaplain Mark Danielsen,
    • Regatta Chair Power John Rosendale,
    • Regatta Chair Sail Capt Joe Payne.
The appointed committee chairpersons and I look forward to working with these fine folks and you the members in continuing the sound financial, social, cruising and inter-club activities that this club is noted for. Everywhere I go the officers and members of other clubs tell me,” I wish we had what your club has. ”With your help this coming year I know I am going to hear those words again. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Commodore for the up coming year.

Social: Opening Day Seattle saw BYC, on board Impressions, walk away with 2nd place Best Dressed Entry. One notch higher than last years finish. Nice job Capt Norton and COB “ Chief Of The Boat, P/C Gary Carr.

The Mothers Day Brunch May 9th was a huge success with 120 guests enjoying a great breakfast. Thanks to Capt Jim and Tami Markham.

Memorial Day Cruise Oro Bay May 28-31.

June 5th BYC Commodore's Ball. Come out and Honor our X-Commodore Bob Bachman

Angela and I want to thank the many committee chairpersons, officers and club members who have helped us through this past year as your Vice Commodore, without your help we could not have done it.
