The Grand Fourteen Officer Cruise In was a fabulous weekend. We escaped the heat and only had a short, light shower to endure on Saturday. I would like to thank the various club members that helped in the preparations, mooring the 20 plus visiting boats we had in the marina, and for everyone's patience and understanding. Once again, BYC made a great impression on the visiting Grand Fourteen officers. Many times, I was told that BYC puts on a great event. Vice Commodore Sean and Melinda Swansboro and Rear Commodore Bill and Ramona Karwacki did a great job planning and executing!
The annual Pig Roast, a much-anticipated event was a great success. Thank you to Roger and Jackie Phillips for hosting such a great event. I am sorry I was unable to attend, I was out of town for the event. It was a sad day and I went to get BBQ myself to try and brighten my mood. I am happy to hear Jim Chiles and his committee put on a fabulous meal.
And the Welcome Back Friday Happy Hour was a great way to kick off the fall season's happy hours. There are plans to have more events like this for football season, on more than just Fridays. Look for the coming announcements.

The Labor Day Cruise is happening as this Towline is being distributed, Friday 8/31 to Monday 9/3. We are celebrating a great summer and cruising season, happy that several more weeks of early fall weather will allow more boating before the rainy season is upon us. And winter boating is fun in its own way!
