Hey Shipmates!

The Holidays have been a whirlwind. I want to thank everyone that helped make the Holidays terrific. Bev Bruins coordinated a wonderful Kids Breakfast with Santa. And I had way more fun playing Santa than I expected . There were a lot of positive comments on the change to Saturday morning for the kids party so we are going to try to do it again next Christmas.

The Lighted Boat Parade was amazing. Steve and Deena Brett (Santa Boat) and Mike & Billie Henry (Lead Boat) did a wonderful job of coordinating the parade and keeping everyone out of harm’s way. JR Collier was the voice of Santa and delighted parade viewers and boat crews alike. The entire Santa boat crew, waving Santas and all did a great job. With twenty boats participating Saturday, some believe that is a record. That couldn’t be verified before the Towline deadline but it was a great event both nights.

On New Year’s Day the undecorating of the clubhouse will be done. Sharon Lillybridge is chairing and there is a signup sheet posted. We want to think about how we store the decorations so the unpacking goes as well as it did this Christmas.

Susan and I want to thank everyone that came to our assistance to help us fulfill our responsibilities for the Christmas Dinner and the Lighted Boat Parade. Susan’s father’s passing rocked our boat quite a bit and the many sympathies expressed and the assistance provided was uplifting during this rough period. Another reminder as to why Susan and I like this place.

Nautical Lore: - Nodding the head does not row the boat.
