Reports from the Bridge

November 2016

We are off to a great start for our 2016 - 2017 year. Much like the Summer months, we have had the addition of many new members. It is very nice to see so many of our newer members taking an active role in many of our events. Thanks for everyone's show of support at the Junior Officer Ball for our VC John & Nina Burwell and RC Phil & Susan LeBas. I am very proud of the representation our members showed to the visiting Junior Officers of the Grand 14. It was an outstanding festivity, thank you for all the work put forth by so many. Especially Captain Stacy & PC Leo Longenecker. Even though it's still early, I encourage your continued support for the many events we have in December. Such as the Special People Cruise on December 4th. We need a large number of boats and members at the Club to be able to handle the many individuals that so look forward to this annual event. This is followed by our Christmas Dinner on December 11th. This is to honor our members, which for those newer members, means that the Bridge, Executive Committee and Spouses prepare, serve and clean-up for you.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of."

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Commodore Dan Saikkonen
