Reports from the Bridge

September 2016

It's hard to believe that Summer is passing so quickly, and we are about to have our 1st General Meeting on Monday, September 19th. I look forward to having ALL of our New Members, from over the Summer, introduce themselves and say a FEW words about their boating experience.

I would like to give a SPECIAL Thank You, to everyone involved in making this year's Grand 14 Officer's Cruise-In another huge success. Our Rear Commodore and 1st Mate, Phil & Susan LeBas, did an outstanding job, as well as Vice Commodore and 1st Mate, John & Nina Burwell. Rumor has it that our Picnic Shelter, received some special attention (clean-up) before everyone arrived from Captain's Roger & Jackie Phillips (if my sources have it correct), your dedication is greatly appreciated! A GRAND time was had by all.

By the time many of you will likely receive this, you will be out on the water enjoying the festivities at our Outstation in Oro Bay, under the amazing direction of our Fleet Captain and Assistant, Stacy & PC Leo Longenecker. Don't forget about our Gone A Ground RV adventure to Hartstine Island on September 15th - 18th under to guidance of PC Don & Flo Floyd.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Who is wise? He that learns from everyone. Who is powerful? He that governs his passions. Who is rich? He that is content. Who is that? Nobody".

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Commodore Dan Saikkonen
