Reports from the Bridge

August 2016

Thank you Fleet Capt's Stacy & PC Leo Longenecker for our 3rd Annual Boat Shed Dingy Cruise. We had planned on attending, however family assistance needs won out. Hopefully many of you have been, and will be able to be out on the water enjoying your boats, friends and family. We are expecting to get out more this year, and always enjoy the time we can. Coming up September 2nd - 5th will be our Labor Day Cruise-in to Oro Bay. Thanks again Longenecker's for an outstanding job as Fleet Capt's.

August 12th - 14th will be the Grand 14 Officer Cruise-in to our Club. It is always a pleasure being able to showcase or fantastic facility to our counterparts from the other Clubs. Moorage space is at a premium, as we will have about 30 visiting boats for the weekend. Please see Rear Commodore Phil LeBas' article, and assist as you are able. If you plan on leaving or arriving during this period, be mindful of the possibility of being blocked in unless other arrangements have been made.

On a separate note, please be aware of your surroundings and that this is a "Volunteer" run Club. It has been brought to my attention that this awareness needs some refreshing. When you use the Club House Showers, please clean them after you're finished. Also, for our dog owners, PLEASE leave not POOP behind. I know this really shouldn't need saying, but your assistance is greatly appreciated.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "The U.S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. You have to catch up with it yourself".

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Commodore Dan Saikkonen
