Reports from the Bridge

March 2017

Well, Spring is just around the corner. The occasional warm, dry days make me anxious. But I know, if you blink you'll miss it. I don't know about you, it seems like Winter has flown by. It's hard to believe that it's almost BUDGET time again.

Mark your calendars, Monday, March 6th's General meeting will be full on variety. We will start out with a Guest Speaker from Tacoma Yacht Club giving a presentation on the very quickly approaching Daffodil Festival April 21st - 23rd. Please let Fleet Captain Stacy & PC Leo Longenecker know that YOU want to be part of the planning, preparation, and presentation of a DECORATED BYC BOAT in the Festival Parade. We are counting on the help of many to make the tasks seem easy. We will also have Capt Rick Randall giving out information and presenting on the upcoming Budget. PC Longenecker will be giving the 2nd Reading of his Bylaw & Regulation Changes, for discussion, followed by a Vote.

Then preceding the March 20th General Meeting, we will be having our oh so famous St Patrick's Dinner at 1800. Chaired by Capt Dick Haney. To be followed by a presentation on Seattle's Opening Day Festivities by the Seattle Trio. It is not too early to start planning for this PARTY, with our Big Brother Queen City Yacht Club being the host dock. There are several of us that go over Wednesday & Thursday to get the party on early.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Commodore Dan Saikkonen
