I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It is amazing just how quickly 2016 has gone by. It has been an extremely busy December. But with the help of a GREAT Bridge, Executive Committee, Flag Officers, Spouses and many dear members, everything has been a complete success.
We are looking forward to another fantastic Club Cruise to Brownsville. Under the guidance of Fleet Captains Stacy & PC Leo Longenecker, January 20th - 22nd. The next BIG Club Event will be "Heavy Weather", February 10th - 12th. Which is a predetermined course, where the racers estimate their times for each leg of the course and compete (Observers are often needed. They are treated as guest on the racers boats, and given a complementary dinner afterwards). The theme this year is "If I Had A Boat…". The Skit Chair is Kevin McStay. The Dockettes Chair is Nancy Haustveit. I need a Chair for the Sunday Breakfast. All members are encouraged to participate. All you have to do is ask any of the racers, what is a Log Race? They will tell you that it is a SOCIAL EVENT. There is a lot to be done, and many committees to serve on. Don’t be afraid to ask what you can do!
Rose and I are looking forward to another outstanding year ahead. We still have 10 Commodore Balls between now and the middle of June. These are Formal Dinner/Dances. Our Club's will be the next to the last one, Saturday June 3rd. The Chair is PC Mike & Ruth Murray. We will be dancing the night away to the music of "Casanova". More details will be following.
In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man."
We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,
