Reports from the Bridge

Oct 2015

It's so hard to believe that it’s already October, the summer went by much too fast. However, it was wonderful seeing the parking lots full and the slips empty with so many out on the water enjoying their boats.

Many thanks to all of you for making our Events so successful. The hours of work provided by Don Sherwood and Committee are greatly appreciated at the Salmon Bake and New Member Appreciation Night. And once again Jytte & PC Bob Wheeler have out done themselves with the Oktober Fest.

The Grand 14 Jr Officer Ball season ramps up one again. We had 7 of these last year and another 7 this year. We enjoyed the hospitality of Port Orchard Yacht Club for hosting us last month for their theme of “Bad Boys, Biker Chicks and Hot Rods". Coming this month we will be hosted by Day Island Yacht Club with a theme of "Shoot Out at the Day Island Saloon". These are Friday – Sunday events. The main focus is Saturday night for the costume ball with dinner and dance. It's always a pleasure being the representative of the Bremerton Yacht Club. We look forward to spending these weekends with RC John & Nina Burwell.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "You may delay, but time will not, and lost time is never found again."

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Dan Saikkonen
Vice Commodore
