Reports from the Bridge

Aug 2015

Another month quickly passes. We look forward to having our Rear Commodore John & Nina BurwellM back from their adventures on the 1st half of the Alaska Log Race. A big thank you to the July Picnic in the Park Committee, and the membership for making it another memorable event. A special thanks to Jan Cordodor, Chair and her Committee: David Cordoror, Al, Joanne and Janine Gonzalez, Laurie Von Ruden, Rick Thomas, Bill Bagley, Caroll Lee deKamp, Abbie and PC Mike Dunn, and PC Mona-Lisa and Mike Ryan.

We are looking forward to assisting RC John & Nina on their 1st BIG Event, the Officer’s Cruise-In. This is a big opportunity for Bremerton Yacht Club to shine with the Grand 14 Officers. To repeat Commodore Mike Murray, it is very much appreciated for letting Jim Minard, Float Chair, know if your slip or shed will be available for our visiting boats to use starting the morning of Friday August 7th – Sunday August 9th around noon. If your slip or shed is among those normally blocked in, be sure to make arrangements prior to the weekend to move your boat. If unsure if you are affected, please check with Jim.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning."

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Dan Saikkonen
Vice Commodore
