Well it's the start of another year, now it’s our pleasure of representing the club as your Vice Commodore. It’s hard to believe (even though all of our PC’s have said) that the 1st year is already behind us. For those that were unable to attend our Change of Watch, XC Norton did a fantastic job, as always. And our new Commodore Murray did wonderfully at faking his emotions during his acceptance speech. It was especially nice having our daughter Laura Harper and good friend Leanne Slone in attendance. But mostly, it’s having my wonderful 1st mate Rose by my side through all of it. I would like to also take this time to welcome RC John and Nina Burwell to his 1st year on the Bridge, as well as to everyone else that has agreed to step up for their various positions. I regret missing our final meeting for the year, but hopefully I have all the crud behind me.
I'm sure that those in attendance for our Oro Bay Cruise, hosted by Fleet Captain Stacy Longenecker had an excellent time. We look forward to attending many of our club cruises this coming year.
In closing, a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "If you wouldst live long, live well, for folly and wickedness shorten life."
We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club.
