Reports from the Bridge

April 2016

Spring is really coming in quickly. We are looking forward to a busy and enjoyable rejuvenation that comes with the Season. Last months activities were well attended by our membership at the Skipperettes Club Breakfast, Club Cruise to Brownsville, and Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. A BIG Thank you to the Skipperettes, Fleet Captain Stacey (& PC Leo) Longenecker, and Captains Flo Floyd, Jo Carr & RC John Burwell, as well as all of their outstanding Crew. We had about 19 boats at the Brownsville Club Cruise-In, despite the weather. Just think about how many we can have if not scared off by a little wind and rain (after all, we are in Washington). We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the fantastic Daffodil Festival at the Tacoma Yacht Club on April 15 – 17. Even if you can’t make the entire weekend, your support in the cheering section for the Saturday event is greatly appreciated. I would also send out a huge thank you to PC Don Floyd and his crew for your excellent work on the PC Picture Wall of Fame. Lastly, don’t forget about our Work Party under the guidance of Captain Norm Smith on April 9 & 10.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!"

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Dan Saikkonen
Vice Commodore
