Reports from the Bridge

February 2016

Well, it’s hard to believe that it’s already February, and time for our fabulous Heavy Weather Event. This year we are having a DJ for your dancing and listening enjoyment Saturday evening. We anticipate hosting about 20 visiting boats. But this is also an Event for OUR Members. There will be dinners Friday and Saturday nights, followed by a full breakfast Sunday morning. This is our Premiere Activity, you’re participation is welcomed and appreciated.

Rose and I, along with RC John and Nina Burwell had a wonderful time honoring your Commodore at the Queen City Outstation, while representing our Club. As well as being at the Junior Officer Balls at Edmonds and Meydenbauer Yacht Clubs. Even though we were unable to attend the Cruise-In to Poulsbo under the direction of Stacy Longenecker and the Spaghetti Feed put on by Jean Muenzenberger and Kevin Pisani, I’m sure those able to participate had a fantastic time.

It is getting the time of year for our nominating committee to go to work. Chaired this year by PC Rob Bruins. If interested in any a position, or if asked, please strongly consider. To quote or Commodore… “Is this a Great Club, or what”.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

We look forward to joining you at the Cruise-In to Brownsville and seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Dan Saikkonen
Vice Commodore
