Spring does bring out the best hopes for the fairer weather to come. Despite the wet, and sometimes blustery last month, it didn’t slow down the cruising activities. BYC had a great turnout for a couple of log races at Meydenbauer Bay and Tacoma Yacht Clubs that sandwiched the St. Patrick’s Club Cruise to Brownsville. Thank you to Fleet Captain Stacey and PC Leo Longenecker for a great event and to all of the club members that participated. I would also like to thank Captains Flo Floyd, Jo Carr, and Donna Park for the great Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. It is great to see the extended families and our future mariners enjoying the great BYC facilities.
Commodore Murray and VC Saikkonen have already laid out the daunting schedule ahead of us. This is an important season for the club and we look forward to your participation, both in the business aspects and the fun Daffodil and Opening Day events on the horizon. With the longer and warmer days, there will be many new opportunities to share in the club and prepare for the fun season of cruising ahead.
See you around,
RC John Burwell
