Wow, what a month! Of course I am writing this fresh off of the Heavy Weather Weekend and that is still foremost in many of our minds. I would like to especially thank CAPT Donna Park and her great crew for pulling together the Friday night dinner for me and all of you. But I would also like to thank Paula Lewis and crew for the Saturday night dinner, John Watson and crew for the Sunday breakfast, and the Commodore for his vision for the weekend and the Vice Commodore for pulling many loose ends together. This was not only a great race (great job CAPT Randall!), but also the most complete and entertaining weekend of the events on the IPBA circuit. The Saturday night skits provided by Tacoma and Rainier Yacht Clubs were a blast, and then the dancing continued way into the evening. Well done to all and I hope that everyone who participated in any form had a great time. I know the visiting racers did.
The club has another busy month ahead of us, including the Skipperette breakfast and St Patrick’s Day Cruise-In already addressed by my seniors. Closing the month is the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, 26 March. This is a great event for children of all ages and I hear a big white bunny will be making an appearance. Thank you to CAPTs Flo Floyd and Jo Carr for chairing this event.
And thank you all for making this such a great club.
Thanks again to the many who have provided so much support,
Rear Commodore John Burwell
