It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving has already passed, and Christmas is just around the corner. December is a very busy month for all of us, with Christmas shopping, celebrating time together with friends and family, along with all of the activities going on at BYC.
I would like to give a special thanks to Flo Floyd for being the Chair for the Club Decorating/Un-decorating, along with all of those that were there (and coming back after Christmas) to make our Club so festive. Also shout-outs to: Jan Cordodor, Chair for the Family Christmas Party on Friday December 5th; Susan LaBas, Chair for the Special Peoples Cruise on Sunday December 7th; Commodore Ray Norton (Bridge, E-Committee, Flag Officers & Spouses) for the BYC Christmas Dinner Sunday December 14th; Paula Lewis, Chair for the Lighted Boat Parade on Friday & Saturday December 19th & 20th, to Phil Mhoon for providing the Santa Boat, Steve Brett for the lead boat, and Lee Anne Derror for being my Navigator. We are in need of 5 Santa’s (it can be either a male or female) for the Lighted Boat Parade. It’s an easy way to get points and enjoy the delightful boat ride. I plan on having shorter shifts so that everyone has an opportunity to party with friends and family joining us both nights. All that is required is wearing the Santa Suit and standing on the bow waving to those on shore. It would also be nice to have more boats out this year, than we had last year. Please be sure to contact any of the above Chairs to offer your assistance. These events are only successful with the help and attendance of our members.
In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: “Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.”
Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (remember we are joining the Poulsbo Yacht Club to celebrate the incoming year, flyer coming soon, everyone is welcome).
We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,
