It's hard to believe that another month has already passed. We had a wonderful time at our Big Brother Cruise In with Queen City Yacht Club. We had the opportunity to meet their new Rear Commodore Dave & Michele Bedner, along with many of their members and Bridge. The July Picnic in the Park, hosted by Cathryn Rice and Crew was another outstanding event. Congratulations to Cathryn as this was her first attended Picnic, and she Chaired it wonderfully. We had 86 members in attendance. Be sure to get signed up for Don Park's Pig Roast on Saturday August 17th. Let's make this a family event, with it starting 1500 (3:00), and ONLY $7.50/person. The sign up sheet is up in the Club House.
To follow up on Vice Commodore Murray's article, with the Grand 14 Cruise In Friday August 8th - Sunday August 10th. This will be a busy weekend with all of the new Rear Commodore's arriving around noon on Friday, followed by the Vice and Commodore's arriving Saturday at noon. If your slip or boat house will be available for use to accommodate our guests please inform me or Capt Steve Brett, as he has agreed to be our Dock Master (thank you Steve).
Unfortunately we will be out of town with the family for our Labor Day Cruise, I'm sure those that can make it will have a wonderful time. Then starting in September begin our JO Balls throughout 7 of the Grand 14 Yacht Clubs. We look forward to representing our fantastic Club along the side of Vice Commodore Mike & Ruth Murray.
In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: the Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,
