The end of May and June were full and enjoyable months. Rose & I are looking forward to July. Our first trip to Oro Bay was with our 23’ Coleman Travel Trailer. Time restrictions were a deterrent for going by boat. It was a wonderful weekend, despite the rain on Sunday. However, we were still able to have fires every night. Paula Lewis, our Fleet Captain did a fantastic job. We look forward to going by boat the next time. That was followed the next weekend with the BYC Gone Aground friends. This was hosted by Dave & Debbie Hagen. We had approximately 17 trailers, along with some family members joining in. Our daughter Laura Harper and 8 month old grandson Geo were among those joining in Saturday and Sunday.
Our first Picnic in the Park was Chaired by Nena Andrews. She and her committee did an outstanding job. I applaud her for including many of our new members & their families. As previously stated we had over 100 members in attendance, with LOTS of wonderful food provided by all. Mark your calendars for the upcoming Picnics: Wednesday July 9th 1800 (6:00) – Chair, Cathryn Rice, and Sunday August 17th 1500 (3:00) – Don Park’s Pig Roast. Please watch for the Flyers and signup sheets, and signup early to make it easier for the Chairs to plan quantities. Also, don’t be shy about contacting them to offer your assistance.
That was followed by our Commodore Ball. Congratulations and thank you for your Service XXX Mona-Lisa and Mike Ryan. PC Rob and Bev Bruin and their committee did a great job. The Band “The Tropics” were exceptional. Not too loud for conversation, or too soft to dance to, job well done.
I will close with a quote from my Chinese fortune cookie: “Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don’t have film.”
We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,
