Reports from the Bridge

Jun 2014

It's the beginning of a very busy and exciting three years. Rose and I appreciate everyone’s support and well wishes. Like with VC Mike & Ruth Murray, this year has already had a number of firsts. We took our RV to the Tacoma Daffodil Festival. This was a fun filled weekend. We are looking forward to having an even bigger turn out next year from BYC. This was followed by our first time through the locks on our way to our Big Brother Queen City Yacht Club for Opening Day. A special thanks to Al & Joanne Gonzalez for going with us. It was nice to see so many of our boats for this wonderful event. We understand that the count was down overall, likely because of the rain. But for the first time, it still seemed like a lot of boats in the parade and along the way as spectators. Many thanks to those stepping up again, or for the first time as Chairmen on the numerous committees. The success of our Social Events depends on both those volunteering their time, as well as a solid support from the members. Our first Picnic in the Park will soon be upon us. It will be held on Wednesday June 11th, the signup sheet will only be up until June 10th. Let Nena Andrews know that we appreciate her stepping up as the Chair for this picnic. Please be sure to sign up early, making it easier for the committees to accommodate those in attendance. Also mark your calendars for our 2nd Picnic on Wednesday July 9th; the Chair for this one is Cathryn Rice. The August Picnic (date TBD) is going to be the fantastic pig roast, the Chair is Don Park.

Benjamin Franklin Quotes: “Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy”.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,
