Reports from the Bridge

Mar 2015

It has been another eventful and accomplished month. Thank you all for your support at our last work party chaired by Norm Smith. We had about 20 members participate each day. We attended our last of 7 Junior Officers Balls as your Rear Commodore at Olympia Yacht Club. They have all been a lot of fun, with great camaraderie. The theme for this one was “Tacky Tourist”. Mark your calendars for the upcoming events: Saturday April 4th Easter Party 1300 – 1500 (1:00 – 3:00) Chaired by Jo Carr & Flo Floyd. Three age divisions for ages 0 – 12. Come greet the Easter Bunny and his Bunny Helper. Please remember to bring a basket to put their findings into; Saturday & Sunday April 11th – 12th Work Party Chaired by Norm Smith; Saturday April 18th will be our Annual BYC Swap Meet 0900 – 1500 (9:00 – 3:00), IT’S BACK, thanks to Chair Lynne Rumbold. Provide your own setting, be it tables and coverings or just a tarp on the ground. Take care of your own pricing and cash. We are providing the space, the rest is up to you. Please be sure to sign up for all of our events at the Club, to make it easier to plan for our wonderful Chairs.

As Commodore Norton and Vice Commodore Murray mentioned, we look forward to having you join us at both Tacoma Yacht Clubs Daffodil Weekend and Seattle Yacht Clubs Opening Day. Even if you can’t join for the weekend, please consider driving to show your support for our Club at both events. Check out the website for more details.

In closing a quote from Benjamin Franklin: “Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our events and around the Club,

Dan Saikkonen
Rear Commodore
