Oct 2012

First off, I want to thank those members that participated in the "Patriot's Day" event. I was proud of BYC's representation in this worthwhile effort to honor our locally based military personnel. Well done.

The Labor Day Cruise to Oro Bay turned out to be a nice blend of newer and seasoned members. Fleet Captain, Paula Lewis, made sure there was plenty to do and a variety of new and different meal presentations. The Anderson Island Fire Department again provided those in attendance with a great barbeque dinner as their way of thanking us for our long running cooperative relationship. As usual, the parade was fun, the yard games were entertaining, the dinghy races were competitive, the horse races were exciting and the weather was great. Overall, a great weekend.

October looks to be a busy month. At the October 1 st General Business Meeting we will entertain additional nominations and elect an Executive Committee member to fill the 3 rd year Planning position. The October 15 th meeting will include the initiation of X-Commodore Leo Longenecker into the Past Commodore's Club again. October also has our own Junior Officer's Ball honoring Vice Commodore Mona-Lisa and Mike Ryan and Rear Commodore Ray and Crystal Norton, hope to see everyone there. And don't forget about Oktoberfest on the 19 th . There is also a work party weekend scheduled to get the club facilities ready for fall.

The Halloween Cruise-In to Brownsville will be October 26-28. Donna Park and Bev Bruins are co-chairing this event and it promises to be a fun event for all.

Bev and I start off our season of Commodore's Balls by attending events at Queen City and Olympia.

Hope to see you around the Club,

Rob Bruins
