Reports from the Bridge

Oct 2011

The calendar says summer is over and it’s time to gear up for all the fall activities around BYC. Don’t miss Oktoberfest on October 7, PC Bob and Jytte Wheeler and their committee always put on a wonderful event. We will welcome our new members to our BYC family on November 18. Deana Brett and Bev will be chairing this event so mark you calendar to join us for New Members Night. Besides the social events though, we would sure like to see more members attending the regular business meetings. The recent By-Law change requires that at least 30 memberships must be present to constitute a quorum and without a quorum no issues can be voted on.

Thanks go out to J.D. Weiner and committee for again putting on the Salmon Bake that was thoroughly enjoyed by all those that attended.

Leslie Hunt is putting the finishing touches on the annual so if you have any last minute changes to make you’d better hurry and get that info to her.

Bev and I are back on the Junior Officer Ball circuit as we represent BYC around the Puget Sound. We just enjoyed a “Margaritaville” themed event at Port Orchard Yacht Club and will be traveling to Day Island and Edmonds in each of the coming months. As I’ve said before, we are truly enjoying our association with the Grand 14 and now have the opportunity to get to know all of the new incoming Rear Commodores from the various clubs. Thanks to all of your continued support.

See you around the Club,

Rob Bruins
Vice Commodore
