In case you haven't heard, the new annuals are out. Stop by the club store and pick up your fresh new copy. The Bylaws and Regulations aren't in this year's annual because the most, up to date, revision is readily available on our BYC WEB site. If you desire a copy of them, please let me know and I'll get you a copy as current as available at that time.

We have had a fairly successful fall of social events. The October Fest was, again a resounding success. Jytte and Bob Wheeler chaired an outstanding committee and the 10th annual fest was again, wonderful. The souvenir beer steins were a great addition this year. I look forward to this again next year.

The Junior Officers Ball, Woodstock party was a big hit with our Grand 14 visitors. All Grand 14 clubs, Vice and Rear Commodores were in attendance. For the first time ever, everyone in attendance was in some sort of psychedelic outfit. As one person put it, it was a fun party even before the party started due to the theme. The BYC attendance was low this time, I'm sure due to various reasons, but, it didn't put a damper on the fun. DJ Bob, played 3 hours straight with a full dance floor the entire time. A great big thanks to Connie and Cal Ormiston for chairing this event, Lisa Ryan for the invitations, Nancy Haustveit for the flower decorations, Darin Haustveit for bar tending Saturday night and Sunday morning, Marilyn and Greg Venable, Roger and Jackie Phillips for Sunday breakfast, Trina and John Carlson for hosting the Friday night gathering, Steve Brett, the best BYC dish washer ever, my Stacy for a huge coordination effort and to everyone else who helped.

The 2010 BYC Halloween party is coming up on Saturday night, October 30th. Lisa Ryan is chairing this party, and a party it will be.

If the Towline comes out after the party, more to follow next month.

Upcoming is the Bremerton Yacht Club New Members Night, chaired by Andy and Nancy Kupp. It is November 19th. This is an excellent opportunity for all the new members from the past year to meet the other members and for us to recruit committee help. Please come out and support this grand evening.

It has been a busy fall for socials and we, on the bridge understand not everyone can make every event, but, please come out and support your club.

Stacy and I want to wish everyone a safe, healthful and blessed Thanksgiving.

VC Leo and Stacy Longenecker
