As spring arrives we look forward to the snowbirds coming home and increased activities on the docks. Bev and I have kept “Ocean Pearl” busier than in past winters as we’ve attended most of the Junior Officer Balls by boat. We were told we would enjoy the “themed” balls but as I’ve said before we are having more fun than I ever thought we would. Bev said she felt like “royalty” as we were introduced on the red carpet at the Seattle Yacht Club. Each event has it’s special memories and they have all been a blast.

I attended the WIC luncheon presented by the Skipperettes and you had to be impressed with the entire event. The effort put into the decorations was obvious from the moment you entered the clubhouse and there was no let down with the meal either as it was also top notch. Ladies, thank you for inviting the bridge to your fantastic event, I really enjoyed it.

Coming up we have the Past Commodores hosting the April 10th. The Easter Egg Hunt will be on April 23rd so bring out the kids and grandkids and have some fun. I‘m still looking for a chair for the scheduled Mother’s Day breakfast on May 8th.

Remember that elections will be the first meeting in May. I hope all will attend this election meeting and help choose the future direction of BYC. Thanks to all that have stepped up and offered to serve the membership.

See you around the club,

Rob Bruins
