Not to step into the R/C's article, I would just like to thank Gary Carr for allowing me to join in on such a wonderful event. After watching Santa Claus 2 three times with our guests and later helping some down the ramp to the docks, Gary asked me to grab the Santa Suit and get ready to greet the many special people who were returning from their ride (thanks Captains). Even though the padding did not give the impression that Santa was well fed, the guests did not care as they took pictures, gave hugs , big smiles and asked that I (Santa) would remember them on Christmas Day. At times ole Santa was choked up with emotion.

The next big event may have passed by mailing time, but for those that read this from the web site , please sign up and plan on having a great time at BYC for New Years, Rich & Leslie Hunt and their crew have been planning the decorations along with fine tuning the menu so this party will go off with a bang into 2009. Okay, lets move to February 7th, and this is an early sign up must.. the annual Crab feed, Bret Halffman will again boil up a great feast .. Please keep checking the web site for when this will post …If you are interested in being on the committee please contact Bret…

    Points to Ponder: New Years

The Romans continued to observe the New Year on March 25, but their calendar was continually tampered with by various emperors so that the calendar soon became out of synchronization with the sun. In order to set the calendar right, the Roman Senate, in 153 B.C. declared January 1 to be the beginning of the New Year. But tampering continued until Julius Caesar, in 46 B.C, established what has come to be known as the Julian Calendar. It again established January 1 as the New Year. But in order to synchronize the calendar with the sun, Caesar had to let the previous year drag on for 445 days.

    Merry Christmas

    Thanks for Reading
