Many thanks to Leo and Stacy Longenecker, Ray and Crystal Norton, and of course to my rear commodorable Denise! These people made up the Taco Feed committee that hosted this Margaritaville event attended by over fifty people in early January. Thanks also go to Rob Bruin, Mike Ryan, and others that helped to clean up. Their contributions were recognized and appreciated!

This last Friday, January 30th, Bev Bruin and Mona Lisa Ryan hosted a Bunco and Poker Party. This was a new event at the BYC and one of many more to come. Bev has been working with Cathy Thomas, Mona Lisa Ryan, Maralee Ormiston, Stacy Longenecker and a host of others on a number of new ideas and events that will begin to appear on our social calendar.

February at the BYC is characterized by a full docket of events! It started off with a Super Bowl Party hosted by Mona Lisa Ryan this past Sunday the 1st and moves to our Annual Crab Feed on Saturday the 7th hosted by Lynetta and Bret Halffman. Be sure to sign-up for the Crab Feed early. The Crabs have to be accounted for and purchased in advance!

~ And then there is HEAVY WEATHER on the 13th, 14th, and 15th. This is the yacht Club's greatest annual event and you don't want to miss it! Just check out the included agenda. Thanks belong to Bev Bruin, Mona Lisa Ryan, Maralee Ormiston, and Rich Hunt for the key roles they will be playing in this weekend's food preparation and events. Thanks also belong to Jim Minard, Al Erlandsen, and others on their set-up committee for the hard work associated with an event of this size. These are just a few of the people and jobs associated with Heavy Weather, but they support the Vice Commodore (or the Rear Commodore in his absence) and for that I am truly grateful.

    Pleasant Boating,

    John Rosendale
    Rear Commodore
