The biggest news for this column has to be the upcoming JO Ball! Leo and Stacy Longenecker, and a committee of "stars" have put together an event that will be long remembered. Honestly, you don't want to miss this party. There will be great camaraderie, great food, great drink, great music, and a simply GREAT TIME! By the time you get this Tow Line, you'll need to sign up immediately!

Woo Hoo! Denise and I sold "The Lucky Dog" over the Labor Day weekend and are now in the market looking for the next boat we'll take up the Inland Passage on our summers off. We'll also be looking to do some log racing as well! After all it is, as Mike and Billie Henry would put it, "A Social Event." We're in no big hurry (what smart buyer would say they were?) but we're eyeing anything that looks like a trawler from 36 to 42 feet, with a preference for wood and a single engine. Great shape, of course.

If you like being a part of this yacht club (and really, who doesn't?), you need to think about going through the chairs... Denise and I joined this club in 1996, and just when we thought we had found about as much fun as there was to find, we found more fun! I don't mean to sound like a recruiter, but you don't want to wait until next March to give the chairs some serious consideration. (Truth is, there should be a line of people wanting to do this.) Now is the time to start thinking about it, and now is the time to get more involved in our leadership. Make sure you're building a foundation of experience that will serve you and the club when you're ready to step up. And if you are ready, let the club know it! You won't regret it!
