The famous Christmas Tree Trimming party will be held on November 30th at 6:30 (1830). This will be a POTLUCK affair so please bring your favorite dish by 6:15 (1815) and share the recipe with other members that night. There is a flyer for this on this Web site (& in the Towline), also a sign-up sheet at the club (and an Email form on the Web site).
The work party at the Club was a success. I would like to thank Norm Smith for chairing the work party and to each of you that came. The Skipperettes are also appreciated for their support and for providing meals.
While some of us will continue using our boats throughout the “rainy winter months”, others will put their boats away and look forward to next spring and summer. It is important that each of us make sure our vessels are properly secured and ready for what is sure to come – nasty weather. Check your fenders and dock lines, boathouse chains, power cord condition and electrical connections, ensure that the bilge pump works, and in general, be proactive in your preparations for the off season. Be aware of the Float Regulations (B.4.a.3.) with regard to heaters, fans, etc. Be safety conscious and visit your vessel on a regular basis to check on its condition.
I would ask that all members please abide by the club regulation H.2.c. that pertains to storing of boat trailers and vehicles on club property. Unless you have been given permission by the Commodore or myself, please make arrangements to have them moved. If you will be leaving a vehicle on the property please leave a key with a friend and a phone number so that your vehicle can be moved if necessary.
Please do not leave your used batteries at the club Chemical Storage area.
