In my last article I spoke of what was happening in regard to the Basement Repairs. I told you that a series of contractors would visit the Club to provide us with bids and that we would then pick the top candidate and begin the repairs. Unfortunately when the estimates came back the costs estimated didn't match our Insurance adjuster's. On Wednesday the 15th of August, the Adjuster is scheduled to make a return trip with the intention of taking another look at the damage. I anticipate, we will be able to proceed with a contractor who can begin the work soon afterward. Again I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience. I would like to thank everyone at Bremerton Yacht Club for the warm hospitality extended to our Grand Fourteen Guests over the weekend of August 10, 11 and 12. Your graciousness sharing your slips and making our visitors feel welcome was appreciated and throughout the weekend members from the clubs around Puget Sound in attendance often commented how fortunate we are to enjoy the Docks, club house and Park and how much they enjoyed their visit to Phinney Bay at the Bremerton Yacht Club. It's hard to believe the third and final picnic in the Park for the summer of 2007 is Tomorrow, and I look forward to catching up with you about how your summer is going and what's happening around the club. We will be again cruising down to Oro Bay for the Labor Day Cruise and Fleet Captain Mike Ryan and his first mate Lisa have another fabulous weekend in store.
Be sure and check out the bulletin board in the clubhouse for updates
around the club and notices about boating safety and recent events
pertaining to our members and facility.
As we savor the remaining days of summer and hope for an Indian one, I wish you a restful tranquil summer filled with boating, cruising and plenty of rest and relaxation. Don Hardgrove, Commodore |
