It is hard to believe that the Holiday Season is almost upon us and with Thanksgiving late this year, preparations will begin immediately. “Decorate the Club” day will be Tuesday, November 30th starting about 1000. Anyone who would like to help is welcome and we particularly need members who can bring greenery (pine, cedar, holly). Some liquid refreshment and a soup lunch will be available to ward off the cold and/or rain. If anyone is available Sunday afternoon, November 28th about 1300, I would like help bringing the decorations up from under Clubhouse where we can see what is available and plan for Tuesday.

Friday, December 3rd will be the party to decorate the Christmas tree and complete any unfinished decorations inside the Clubhouse. This will start about 1800 and hopefully end with a sing–along of carols. Please bring an hors d’oeuvre to share with others; liquid refreshment will be provided.

The Bremerton Yacht Club Children’s Christmas Party is the following day, December 4th, from 1100 to 1300 where I understand Santa will make an early appearance.

The Lighted Boats Parades are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, 17 and 18 December. I am pleased with the number of boats already signed up for the event but there is always room for more. This is a very popular event for Bremerton and a great way to serve the community. The itinerary for both nights is posted on the BYC website at http://bremertonyachtclub.org, click on Lighted Boat Parade. A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the lounge. As in the past, there will be hot buttered rum in the Clubhouse following the Friday night parade thanks to CAPT Sylvia Wilson and her crew. Please encourage anyone wishing to hear from Santa on the parade routes to use the message form posted on the website. This will ensure that Santa has the proper location and message to deliver.

Penny and I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday Season!

Skål,

Ron Morse
