It appears the Fall weather has made its appearance finally.

Speaking of Fall, the Fall Work Party is just around the corner, scheduled for Oct. 16th-17th. Since the contractor will be starting replacement of the A-String Whalers starting on the 15th of October, Iím sure the Work Party Chairman Capt. Al Fox will have plenty of tasks, but sign up soon so he can plan accordingly. I would also ask that those members with boats moored on the affected areas of A-String(those slips outboard of the Club Cover)be as patient as possible through the whole process i.e., Whaler replacement, replacement and DISRUPTION OF POWER during this process when services have to be moved and during meter base replacement subsequent to Whaler replacement.(Please remove any perishables from on board refrigerators). Those affected should also empty their Dock Boxes, as this is the first component that is removed in the replacement of Whalers. Lastly, remember this whole process always runs smoother if you pitch in when needed. If you have any problem with this, contact the Float Chairman P/C Gary Carr.

Labor Day Cruise was a good time had by all, Iím happy to report, thanks to Fleet Captain Steve Stearns. A big thank you is also in order to the Ladies of BYC who lent a much needed hand to Steve in preparing the delicious meals that weekend. Teamwork is BYCís middle name. Iím also happy to report that the Oro Bay Desalination Plant was up and running for the entire Labor Day Cruise. The Annual Labor Day Andersen Island Parade was again brightened by BYCís entry, SteamBoat Willy and his tug, what a beautiful job by all who lent a hand in transforming Outstation Chairman Capt. Bryan Goldenís truck into one of the cutest floats Iíve seen.

Many of you are now aware of the Marina Piling Inspection Report findings. The Inspection Report is being analyzed by BYC members with professional expertise in marine construction to determine what the Club's next step is. When I have that information, I will get back to you. You can view a copy of the Marina Piling Survey at the club.

There will be a Halloween Cruise to Port Orchard Marina, on October 30&31st, Fleet Captain Steve Stearns tells me there will be a best Costume Contest and other games for chances to win some terrific prizes, so sign-up when you see the list in the ClubHouse, Iíll see you there.

Starting with The September 20th General meeting we will be accepting nominations from the floor for a Special Election(required by Article V11 Section 6 of the By-Laws) to be held at the October 4th General meeting to fill a vacated one year term on the Executive Committee, I have put together a nominating committee, who have a couple of candidates. Thats it from me.
